Ember's Gentle Glow

For ages 5 10 min read Dragon Friend Lesson: Sharing

Felix loved to snuggle under a soft, blue blanket. It felt like a fluffy cloud. Outside, tiny fireflies blinked. Their lights danced in the garden.

The window was open just a crack. A gentle breeze whispered inside. It smelled like cool grass and sweet night flowers. Felix felt cozy and safe.

Suddenly, a little rustling sound came from the garden path. It was soft, like dry leaves dancing. Felix peeked out from under the blanket. What could it be?

A small, sparkly scale shimmered near the big rose bush. It was the color of a sunset. Then, a tiny nose poked out. It was a dragon!

The dragon was very small. It was no bigger than Felix’s favorite teddy bear. Its scales were soft pink and orange. It had gentle, big eyes.

The little dragon looked shy. It peeked at Felix. Then it quickly hid behind a rose. It made a soft, rumbling sound. It sounded like a tiny purr.

Felix smiled a very quiet smile. The dragon seemed lonely. Felix had a special smooth, shiny pebble. It was a very pretty blue. Felix carefully held it out.

The little dragon poked its head out again. It looked at the pebble. Its eyes sparkled even more. It slowly, slowly took a step closer.

Then, with a little sniff, the dragon gently touched the pebble. It took the shiny blue stone. It held it in its tiny claw. It looked so happy.

The little dragon gave a soft little sigh. Then it gently pushed a small, smooth leaf towards Felix. The leaf had a tiny bit of sparkly dust on it. It was a gift back.

Felix carefully took the sparkly leaf. It felt warm in Felix’s hand. The little dragon curled up near the rose bush. It closed its eyes. It looked very peaceful.

Felix snuggled back under the blue blanket. The fireflies still blinked outside. The little dragon’s soft purr was barely a whisper. It was a happy sound.

Felix held the sparkly leaf close. It felt like a warm, shared secret. Felix’s eyes started to feel heavy. Each breath grew long and slow. The stars twinkled softly above.
